As part of Constitution Week at UAA, the Department of Political Science hosts the Madison Cup competition, where teams of students face off against each other, armed only with a copy of the Constitution and their own knowledge.

This year's winners were Hans Rodvik and Montana Ware. Runners up were Anna Marquez and Curtis Leitch.

"They were the best prepared contestants I've ever seen in all of my years of being involved with the Madison Cup," said Guy Burnett, assistant term professor of political science.

Hans and Montana clinched their victory by answering this final question, including a citation of where exactly the answer was found, which snagged them extra points: "If the President of the United States believes he is unable to discharge his powers and duties, to whom must he transmit a written declaration stating the same?"

(Answer: The President Pro-Tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Amendment 25, Section 2)
