UAA's Political Science Department kicked off Constitution Week last night with the inaugural Chartwell Lecture, featuring speaker Ralph Beistline, chief judge of the United States District Court for the District of Alaska. In the talk, Judge Beistline discussed his experiences on the bench, as well as the importance of viewing the sixth and seventh amendments as rights. Visit the Political Science Department's Facebook page for more pictures from the lecture.

The celebration continues tonight as Constitution buffs square off in the James Madison Cup for prizes and bragging rights, 5:30-8 p.m. in the Student Union. Don't miss the action! Check back with the Green & Gold for an after event recap.
