20131005-ethics-bowlThe Seawolf Debate Program and UAA's Department of Philosophy are pleased to bring you the fourth annual University of Alaska Ethics Bowl. Inaugurated in 2011 by the University of Alaska Fairbanks' Socratic Society, the tournament returns to Anchorage Oct. 5.

The Ethics Bowl offers the opportunity for undergraduates to apply their knowledge of argument and ethics to case studies in a competitive environment designed to test reasoning, advocacy and critical thinking. The winning team will be flown to Seattle to represent Alaska at the Northwest Regional Ethics Bowl in February. Information about the competition, adjudication criteria, training materials and registration can be found on the Ethics Bowl website.

Registration for the event is open to teams comprised of undergraduate students currently enrolled at any university in the state of Alaska. Faculty and staff who are interested in serving as judges are also encouraged to register as a judge-no experience necessary.

Tournament space is limited and the last day to register is Oct. 2. For more information, please contact Amie Stanley at (907) 786-4354 or astanle6@alaska.edu.
