Blackboard: Course Navigation & Organization Wednesday, Oct. 16, 10-11:30 a.m. Rasmuson Hall, Room 215 or via Blackboard

This 90-minute workshop will wrap up the Blackboard Tools series. The focus will be on applying the concepts, strategies and tools from the series to create online learning spaces for face-to-face, hybrid and/or online courses. The workshop will also offer plenty of tips, including some on organization, modifying assignments for online formats and creating course navigation to assist students in accessing course content.

Documenting Learning with ePortfolios Wednesday, Oct. 16, 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. UAA/APU Consortium Library, Room 214 or via VTC*

This fall, the Faculty Discovery Common will be reading "Documenting Learning with ePortfolios, A Guide for College Instructors." The book provides higher education instructors with a theory-to-practice approach for understanding the pedagogy behind ePortfolios and tips for helping students use them for recording and reflecting on their learning in multiple contexts. The authors outline a framework of six critical iterative tasks to undertake when implementing ePortfolios for student success. Filled with real-life models of successful ePortfolio projects, the book also includes guidance for faculty development to support the use of ePortfolios and covers the place of ePortfolios in institutional assessment efforts.

Come join the discussion and learn how ePortfolios can work for you. Free copies of the book are available by contacting the FTC.
