Landry Signé: 'Why Has Democracy Proven Good for Africa?' Nov. 19

In this talk, Landry Signé will analyze the transformations over the past two decades of political regimes and democratization in the 48 Sub-Saharan African countries by contrasting various political trajectories, comparing results between successful versus failed countries and exploring the conditions that create, maintain and sustain democracies. Signé is the most recent addition to the UAA Political Science Department and was previously affiliated with Stanford University and the University of Oxford.
