Mat-Su College joins in the Great American Smokeout

Matanuska-Susitna College, along with UAA's main campus and other colleges across Alaska, partnered with the American Lung Association and the American Cancer Society to host the 38th annual Great American Smokeout (ACS GASO), a day highlighting the dangers of tobacco use and the challenges of quitting. ACS GASO encourages smokers to use the annual date of Nov. 21 to make a plan to quit or to plan in advance and quit smoking that day. The number one thing tobacco users can do to improve their health and extend their life is quit. By doing so, smokers will be taking an important step towards a healthier life and reduce their cancer risk.

Matanuska-Susitna College put up a one-day display in the Atrium supporting this "smoke free" event. The display encouraged people to consider the question, "Should the university be a smoke free campus?" Check out the results on the MSC Facebook page.
