'Wild Dominion: Three Authors on Wolves, Bears and Humans,' Dec. 3

by Michelle Saport  |

Tuesday, Dec. 3, 7 p.m. Anchorage Museum (625 C St.)

Join M.F.A. faculty Sherry Simpson, M.F.A. alumna Marybeth Holleman and author Deb Vanasse for a special talk at the Anchorage Museum.

About the talk: We share natural, urban and cultural landscapes with amazingly complex animals, including bears and wolves. How do these animals shape our ideas about wilderness and identity? In what ways do the creatures that inhabit our imaginations differ from the ones that inhabit our lives? What can we learn from the passion and wonder of those who dedicate themselves to the study of wildlife? In this hour-long presentation, the authors of Dominion of Bears, Among Wolves and Black Wolf of the Glacier (a children's book) explore these questions. Book sales and signings will follow.
