Pillow Patrol: Create pillowcases for local foster children - Jan. 18, 2014

by Michelle Saport  |

Saturday, Jan. 18, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Anchorage Extension Office (1675 C St., Ste. 100)

Join the Cooperative Extension Service for an afternoon of service and volunteer to help create pillowcases for Anchorage-area foster kids. Pillowcases create a colorful place to lay your head and make handy bags for storing personal belongings. Children who receive the pillowcases are able to choose their favorite from the hundreds of colorful options that volunteers create for them.

No sewing experience necessary! Bring family and friends, and stay one hour or all day. For more information about Pillow Patrol and the 4-H Program in Anchorage, visit the Anchorage 4-H web page or call (907) 786-6300.

Preregistration is not required. Materials and tools will be provided, but those with sewing machines are encouraged to bring them. Donations of yard-size pieces of fabric are appreciated.
