UAA employees top fundraisers for this weekend's Polar Plunge in Seward

The University of Alaska Anchorage is currently listed as the top fundraising organization for the Polar Plunge taking place this Saturday, Jan. 18, in Seward. With a current total of $11,553 raised by employees, UAA leads the second team, Central Peninsula Hospital, by more than $8,000.

This is largely due to the fundraising efforts of the Psychology Department and their team, "UAA is Psyched for a Cure." The team, which is also top overall, raised a significant portion of their current $8,208 total by selling hot waffles on campus.

Pledges raised through the Polar Bear Jump-Off help provide cancer patients and their families with information and support, fund research that leads to improved treatments, educate the public about cancer prevention and early detection and help ensure that everyone has access to lifesaving cancer screenings.
