Guitar recital by guest artist Valerie Hartzell, March 3

The UAA Department of Music is proud to present guest guitarist Valerie Hartzell, an internationally acclaimed guitarist who has played concerts in France, Spain and throughout the U.S. A regular on the competition circuit, Hartzell has received awards and prizes from the Portland Guitar Competition, ECU Competition, International Guitar Competition "Somine Salmaso" in Italy, Concours de Guitare Classique Heitor Villa-Lobos in France and many others. According to Fanfare magazine, "Hartzell very obviously loves her instrument and the music she plays on it... [She] proves herself to be a master at creating moods."
