TRiO National Day of Service, Feb. 14

by Michelle Saport  |

Friday, Feb. 14, 1-4 p.m. Lucy Cuddy Hall

TRiO Day is a nationally organized event at colleges and universities across the country. During the event, TRiO programs come together to offer thanks to the communities that support them. Students and administrators from the UAA Educational Talent Search, Educational Opportunity Center and Student Support Services, as well as the greater community, will come together to celebrate and increase public awareness of TRiO.

Please join us for an afternoon of refreshments, entertainment and presentations in celebration of these integral programs at UAA. In addition to Anchorage and Alaska dignitaries, members of the Anchorage community are welcome to attend. Through the community's support, TRiO is able to help thousands of Alaskans transform their educational dreams into reality.

TRiO Day schedule:

  • 1-1:30 p.m.: Musical and dance performances by Begich Middle School Hmong Dancers, the Mariachi Agave Azul Band and UAA ukulele performers
  • 1:30-2:30 p.m.: Speeches and presentations by TRiO students, dignitaries and keynote speaker
  • 2:30-4 p.m.: TRiO students and community members in attendance will participate in a service project designed to raise awareness about educational access programs in Alaska
