March 30, 2014: El Mundo in concert

Travel across Europe and the New World, retracing the spread of Spanish music, with early music ensemble El Mundo. Journey on an adventure of sound as the Castilian influence travels through its neighboring countries and across the Atlantic, bringing with it a musical zest that continues to influence music today.

Directed by world-renowned guitarist Richard Savino, El Mundo combines bowed strings with the rarely heard accompaniment forces of mixed guitars, lutes and percussion to recreate the distinctive Latin sound of the old and new world.
