"Zombies: Physiology of the UnDead" with Michael Harris Thursday, April 17, 7:30-9:30 p.m. Rasmuson Hall, Room 101

Michael Harris, Ph.D., is an associate professor of neuroscience and integrative physiology at the Institute for Arctic Biology at UAF. He uses zombies as an example in his classes to explain neurobiology and animal physiology.

"Glia-The Other Brain" with Douglas Fields Friday, April 18, 7-9 p.m. UAA/APU Consortium Library, Room 307

Douglas Fields, Ph.D., is chief of the Nervous System Development and Plasticity Section at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. He is also the editor-in-chief of the journal Neuron Glia Biology, in addition to serving as an editorial board member for several other neuroscience journals. This lecture is held in conjunction with the 28th Annual Behavioral Sciences Conference of the North.
