Saturday, April 26, 7:30-11 a.m. UAA Main Campus

The Alaska Heart Run returns to UAA this Saturday, April 26, for its 36th year. The race usually draws a crowd of around 5,000 people and affects traffic flow throughout campus. If you'll be visiting campus Saturday, please plan ahead and consider carpooling, bussing or biking instead of driving.

Volunteers will be on hand to assist with parking. Race participants are asked to carpool and park in the West Campus lots, as there will be shuttle service to the starting area throughout the morning. Designated parking for UAA patrons will be available in the East Campus lots. A map of parking options is available at the bottom of this page. UAA Zimride is one place to look for and post carpools.

On-site registration and bib pick-up for the Alaska Heart Run will be available from 7 to 9 a.m. on Saturday. Runners competing in the timed 5K should plan to line up by 9:10 a.m. Participants running or walking in the untimed 5K/3K event should line up after the start of the competitive race and by 10 a.m. A formal awards ceremony and several prize drawings will take place at 10:30 a.m. All proceeds will benefit the American Heart Association, which raises funds to aid in the fight against heart disease and stroke.
