The 30th Annual Student Showcase academic conference and competition was held April 10-11. Students representing disciplines from anthropology to public administration presented their best class work from courses taken in 2013. The submissions were pre-screened by faculty and the presentations were judged by a community panel. Five of the community panelists were UAA alums and one was a past showcase participant.

Winners of the Student Showcase were announced at the Awards Luncheon held Saturday, April 12, in the Student Union Den. Sixty students, faculty, administrators, family members and friends attended, including Provost Bear Baker and Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Bruce Schultz. Professor Clay Nunnally, English, gave congratulatory remarks. Nunnally has been a Showcase committee member for more than 12 years and will be retiring from UAA in 2015 after serving as a faculty member since 1970.
