Enrollment for the Tanaina Child Development Center (CDC) at UAA is currently open. The program has openings in its on-campus program (for children 18 months-5 years) and summer camp (for children ages 5-10 years).

On-Campus Program The Tanaina philosophy can be summarized in four words: discover, explore, create and celebrate. The values and practices behind these simple words add up to a successful early childhood education program that recognizes the uniqueness of each child in the context of nurturing community and relationship.

The Tanaina Child Development Center offers four-day and five-day early education programs for toddlers and preschoolers Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-6 p.m.

The on-campus program fills quickly. Please call (907) 786-1340 for more details and to schedule a tour.

2014 Summer Camp The Tanaina Child Development Center Summer Camp is for children ages 5-10. Throughout the program, Tanaina's experienced teachers will lead small groups into summer exploration of the natural world around us. Children will learn the basics of ecology, gardening, natural history, Alaska animals and much more through daily field trips to various parks, lakes, botanical gardens, museums and other locations. All daily activities will incorporate arts and crafts activities, reading and interactive games to support learning and discovery.

The summer program runs May 26-Aug. 19. Tanaina CDC is open Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-6 p.m. The cost per week is $235 and will be discounted if you sign up for a full month. This program fills quickly. Please call (907) 786-1340 to reserve your spot.
