May 2014: Food Preservation Workshop Series offered every Wednesday

Join Leslie Shallcross, Cooperative Extension Service faculty and registered dietitian, for a hands-on food preservation workshop series.

May 7: Jam and Jelly ($25) May 14: Canning Fish and Meat in Jars ($30) May 21: Pickled Vegetables, Chutney and Sauerkraut ($25) May 28: Sausage and Jerky ($30) May 31: Freezing and Drying Fruits and Vegetables ($25)

All classes meet from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Classes on May 7, 14, 21 and 28 will be held at Viking Hall (8141 Briarwood St.) The May 31 class will take place at the Anchorage Extension Office (1675 C St., Suite 100).

Register online today. To register using cash or check, visit the Anchorage Extension Office. Class size is limited and pre-registration is required. Online registration for each class will close at 5 p.m. the day prior to the scheduled class. Classes require a minimum of 10 people.
