UAA salutes its 2014 Rasmuson Foundation artist award recipients

The Rasmuson Foundation, a private Alaska foundation that works as a catalyst to promote a better life for Alaskans, announced its 2014 Project, Fellow and Distinguished Artist awards May 13 in Anchorage. Seven UAA graduates were among those named:

  • Tracy Bader, Occupational Endorsement Certificate '09
  • Teeka Ballas, B.A. Journalism '09
  • Nicholas Bradford, A.A. General Program '11
  • Pedar Dalthorp, B.A. Psychology '99
  • Amy Meissner, M.F.A. Creative Writing '04
  • Don Rearden, M.F.A. Creative Writing '05
  • Shehla Anjum, M.F.A. Creative Writing '08

In addition, Michael Walsh teaches a film class at KPC's Kachemak Bay Campus, and Ingvil Vatn Guttu worked with the UAA Department of Theatre and Dance in the mid-2000s.

Congratulations  to all the award recipients, including Distinguished Artist Peggy Shumaker, a professor emerita from UAF, along with a special salute to members of our UAA family.
