Mat-Su College announces the naming of the Valley Center for Arts and Learning as the Glenn Massay Theater, after former MSC Director Glenn Massay (pictured).

On Friday, Sept. 19, the University of Alaska Board of Regents formally approved naming the Valley Center for Arts and Learning as the Glenn Massay Theater.

The Glenn Massay Theater name was recommended as the culmination of a lengthy process in accordance with UAA Chancellor Tom Case's procedural letter of Oct. 25, 2013, establishing the Matanuska-Susitna College (MSC) Naming Committee for the Valley Center for Arts and Learning (VCAL). After applying specific criteria, instituting a public nomination process and reviewing nomination packets, the committee strongly recommended that the VCAL be named after the late MSC Director Emeritus Glenn Massay.

Massay's record of service to higher education and Alaska, particularly MSC and the Mat-Su Valley, is extraordinary. For the full story, visit the Matanuska-Susitna College website.
