Nomination period now open for Edith R. Bullock Prize for Excellence

The Edith R. Bullock Prize for Excellence is the University of Alaska Foundation's most prestigious award. It was established in 1989 with funds provided by Mrs. Bullock. The honor, along with the $15,000 prize money that goes directly to each year's recipient, provides meaningful acknowledgement and inspiration to others. Each year the UA Foundation Board of Trustees recognizes an individual whose work has demonstrated excellence in support of UA.

Any student, faculty, staff member or volunteer who has made a significant contribution to further the university's mission of "inspiring learning, and advancing and disseminating knowledge through teaching, research, and public service..." is eligible for nomination. Nominees can include someone who has been making a difference for many years or someone who might be considered an "up-and-comer."

Because nomination come from the campuses, it is important that each campus be active both in seeking out candidates who meet the standard of excellence and in celebrating the award recipients. Nominations for the 2015 award are now open. The deadline for nominations is Dec. 1, 2014. Visit the UA Foundation website to download the nomination form.
