2014 Great Alaska ShakeOut

Please help us make the Great Alaska ShakeOut earthquake exercise a positive learning experience for everyone at UAA next Thursday, 10/16 at 10:16. The Emergency Management office will be announcing the start of the drill using the Cisco speakerphone function, which will simultaneously test our on-campus mass alerting capability.
The drill is coming, nationwide, so please encourage everyone around you to participate by dropping to the floor, covering their head and body with a piece of furniture, and holding onto it in case the desk or chair were to move across the floor during a substantial earthquake (Drop! Cover! Hold on!). For more information, log on to www.shakeout.org/alaska.
If a speakerphone does not activate during the exercise, or only a portion of the message comes through, please let Lt. Ron Swartz (rcswartz@uaa.alaska.edu) know so that he can share that information with I.T. Services for repairs.
