The UAA Department of Health, Physical Education & Recreation (HPER) is introducing a new program to provide direct and real world teaching experience for students enrolled in HPER leadership classes.

The inaugural event is called "Knockout November" and the purpose of the program will be for HPER students to gain experience developing and implementing lesson plans, teaching techniques for small and large group activities, and leading a classroom. Once they have that experience, HPER and Recreation Sports will provide the venue for those students to get experience leading the class for real.

Come attend one of the following introductory classes offered as part of the program:

Tuesday, Nov. 18 5:15-6 p.m. Step Aerobics 6:15-7 p.m. Yoga and Pilates

Thursday, Nov. 20 5:15-6 p.m. Cardio Kickboxing 6:15-7 p.m. Yoga and Pilates

Friday, Nov. 21 5:15-6 p.m. Fitness Boot Camp 6:15-7 p.m. Yoga and Pilates

All activities will take place at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.

These classes are free for UAA students, faculty and staff. All are welcome, regardless of fitness level. Please sign up in advance so the organizers know how many attendees to expect. For questions and to sign up, visit the Issue Cage in the Wells Fargo Sports Complex or call (907) 786-1231.
