Spring 2015: Dr. Alex Hills Engineering & Civic Engagement Award

by Michelle Saport  |

The Center for Community Engagement & Learning (CCEL) seeks proposals from UAA undergraduate engineering students for this year's Dr. Alex Hills Engineering & Civic Engagement Award.

Engineering students are encouraged to apply for this $2,500 award to use their engineering knowledge and practice for the benefit of society. Students may apply individually or in teams, but either application requires a faculty mentor.

The award recipient(s) will conduct a community-engaged learning project that solves engineering and technology-based problems in partnership with a local organization, under the supervision of an engineering faculty member. The proposal deadline is Friday, Jan. 30, 2015.

For details, project ideas and application materials, please see the Center for Community Engagement & Learning (CCEL) website or call (907) 786-4062.
