Charles Bradley and His Extraordinaires, Feb. 20

by Michelle Saport  |

Friday, Feb. 20, 7:30-11 p.m. Wendy Williamson Auditorium

UAA Concert Board and UAA Student Activities are proud to present Charles Bradley and His Extraordinaires. Charles Bradley's voice has evolved from a lifetime of paying dues, having nomadically labored for decades at various ill-fitting day jobs from Maine to Alaska-singing and performing in his spare time, most famously as a James Brown impersonator at Brooklyn clubs-before finally being discovered by Daptone's Gabe Roth. Charles released his debut album, "No Time For Dreaming," in 2011. The year following the release of "No Time For Dreaming" was one triumph after another: a stunning performance at South By Southwest that earned unanimous raves; similarly gripping appearances at Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, Newport Folk Festival and Outside Lands (to name just a few); and spots on year-end best lists from Rolling Stone, SPIN, GQ, Paste and more. His 2013 release, "Victim of Love," was met with universal acclaim from music critics.

Advance tickets are $15 for UAA students and $30 for the general public. All tickets are $5 more at the door. Buy tickets online at UAATix.com or in person at the UAA Student Union Information Desk.
