The Department of Biological Sciences has completed the search process for the position of assistant professor in applied environmental microbiology and would like to invite you to a series of presentations given by the candidates. The candidates will introduce you to their work and what they have to offer the University of Alaska Anchorage.
The department is pleased to invite you to the first presentation, "Iron Oxidizing Bacteria: From Single Cells to Environmental Applications," given by Erin Field, Ph.D., on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015.
Field will discuss her work involving the role of iron-oxidizing bacteria in biogeochemical cycling in freshwater and estuary environments.
Field received her B.S. in environmental science biology from Southampton College, and received her doctorate in microbiology from Montana State University. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Delaware, working in the Geomicrobiology Laboratory with PI Clara Chan.
