UAA Department of History Term Instructor Curtis G. Murphy, Ph.D., has received a one-and-a-half month stipend from the Polish History Museum, a state institution of the Republic of Poland, to conduct archival research this summer in Warsaw. Each year, the Polish History Museum opens a grant competition to foreigners who study Polish history, with proposals judged by a panel of eminent Polish historians. Professor Murphy won his grant for a project conducting archival research in support of his book project on Enlightenment government and urban politics in East-Central Europe.
