Top Forty Under 40

Alaska Journal of Commerce announced the 2015 class for its annual Top Forty Under 40 list.

The Alaska Journal of Commerce's annual "Top Forty Under 40" list is again studded with incredible achievers, many of whom have ties to UAA. This year's list calls out two UAA employees as well as 12 alumni (or soon-to-be alums). Hearty congratulations to the following:

EMPLOYEES

Nolan Klouda is the executive director of the University of Alaska Center for Economic Development. Find out more about his work at the Center here.

Glenna Muncy serves as the director of Parking Services for UAA. Read her I AM UAA story here.

ALUMNI

Joe Bell, CEO of Keller Williams Realty's Alaska Group graduated in 2004 from UAA from the Bachelor of Business Administration program.

Luke Blomfeld is principal/senior project manager for Davis Constructors.

Jay Blury is a vice president and the marketing and communications director for Northrim Bank. He graduated in 2006 with a B.A. in journalism.

Charity Carmody is an agent for Beacon Hill/State Farm.

Deantha Crockett is executive director of the Alaska Miners Association. She finished up her studies at UAA in 2008 and serves on UAA's Occupational Safety Advisory Board.

Clare Gauster is principal of Ravenwood Elementary School in Eagle River.

Katherine Jernstrom has nearly completed graduate studies in UAA's Master of Public Administration program and her business partner, Brit Szymoniak, graduated from UAA with a B.A. in sociology in 2010. Together they run The Boardroom. We profiled Brit in our I AM UAA series recently.

D.K. Johnston is a filmmaker with Tri-Seven Pictures and, like fellow "Top Forty"  honoree Jay Blury, graduated in 2006 with a B.A. in journalism.

Ric Nelson chairs the Governor's Council on Disabilities & Special Education. He holds two degrees from UAA, a 2009 A.A.S. in small business administration and a 2013 B.B.A.

Natasha Pineda is a program officer with the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority.

Tracy Runyan-Traylor is associate nurse executive for Alaska Native Medical Center. She graduated from UAA's School of Nursing in 1999 with a B.S. in Nursing Science.
