The goal of this panel is to provide an opportunity for members of the UAA and Anchorage communities to engage in dialogue dealing with issues of gender equality and empowerment. This discussion will cover a range of issues, including domestic violence against men and women, high STI rates in Alaska and discrimination experienced by the LGBT community.

The objectives of this panel discussion are to:

  • Explore gender equality issues in our community.
  • Become better informed about services provided by relevant organizations and how they overlap.
  • Answer the question: "How can we as a community help empower both men and women in Alaska?"
