UAA students Chad W. Keen and Janelle LaPlante are the short story winners of the 2015 College Language Association (CLA) Margaret Walker Alexander Creative Writing Contest. Keen received a $500 prize for his first-place-winning short story submission, "Family Curse," and LaPlante received an honorable mention and a $75 prize for her short story "The Name Tag." Both students were sponsored by Jervette R. Ward, Ph.D., who is a lifetime member of CLA. The contest is only open to students attending colleges and universities where a CLA member is a member of the faculty.
