Beat the rush for your 2015 fall semester technology needs

by Michelle Saport  |

Faculty and students will soon return to our campus for the upcoming fall semester. In preparation for their arrival and the start of classes, IT Services wants to help with technology needs.

Our department can assist with refreshing computers, adding new software, repairing systems and purchasing new equipment. Our technicians are Dell-certified and run an Apple warranty repair shop. There's even more great news: Our rate for desktop computer support has been reduced from $85 per hour to $72 per hour. In addition to departmental support, we also service personally owned equipment for employees and students.

Does your organization have new employees coming on board requiring telephone support? We can assist with providing new phones, as well as move or change existing phone services. If your employees will need to make long-distance calls, we can provide them with long distance access (PIN) codes.

Faculty commonly use a variety of technology tools while teaching in classrooms. To help instructors prepare for classes, Audio Visual (AV) Services provides training on classroom equipment. We offer video videoconferencing support, as well as consultation and installation of equipment for a variety of needs.

With the start of a new semester, we know there will be changes in department and employee contact information. IT Services is currently in the process of updating the telephone directory database. If you have any updates that need to be added or revised, please do not hesitate to email Ellen Koenen at anjen1@uaa.alaska.edu with this important information.

Get ahead of the rush and call our IT Call Center (786-4646) today! But remember, due to popular demand, support is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. We look forward to serving you and helping make the start of your semester a success.

As the fall 2015 semester quickly approaches, don't forget to take a moment to select from Academic Innovations & eLearning's variety of UAA Blackboard workshops and webinars to help jumpstart your semester.
