Summer 2015: Test of new emergency alert software postponed; new date TBA

by Michelle Saport  |

NOTE: Due to technical issues beyond the control of Emergency Management and the UAA Incident Management Team, the test of the newest crisis alert software has been postponed. The new test date will be announced soon in the Seawolf Daily.

Original story: Please note that UAA will be adding a software application remotely to university Windows computers within the next few days in order to enhance our capacity to send emergency alerts to workstations on campus. This application allows University of Alaska incident management teams to relay important notifications to your computer in the form of an announcement that will display on your monitor. No personal information is gathered or transmitted during alert notifications. UAA intends to test this capability around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12. Users will be asked to click an icon to acknowledge the alert.

For issues of concern, feel free to contact the EH&S Office of Emergency Management at (907) 786-1149.
