Operation ID is a national crime prevention program designed to protect your valuables from theft. Use of Operation ID is totally free for the UAA community. To use this service:

  1. Check out an engraver from a Residence Hall front desk or the University Police Department office (Eugene Short Hall, Room 114).
  2. Use the device to engrave your valuables with your UA student ID, initials or whatever identifying mark is unique to you.
  3. Return the engraver.

Crime-stopping tip: Make a list of your valuables and their serial numbers, and keep it in a safe place.

Learn more about Operation ID at the UPD website.

UPD would also like to remind you about the UAA Police Silent Witness Page. The form, which allows you to remain anonymous, is intended to aid in information gathering for events that have taken place and for which you have information to share.
