Catcher in the Rye... Harry Potter... Of Mice and Men... Captain Underpants... Every year, there are hundreds of attempts to remove books from schools and libraries. Celebrate your freedom to read and your freedom to choose your book during Banned Books Week.
The UAA/APU Consortium Library will host its first Banned Slam (similar to a poetry slam, but with banned books). Join us Friday, Oct. 2, 7 p.m. in UAA/APU Consortium Library, Room 307 and read from your favorite banned book. Top slam readers will win prizes.
