Fall 2015: Staff wellness breaks for Nov. 9-13 to add massage

UPDATE: A new wellness event begins Thursday. Nov. 12 and repeats through the end of the semester:

  • Thursday, Nov. 12, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. 10-minute chair massages for one hour (No oils, lotions or disrobing required) 30-minute yoga/relaxation/stretching (last half hour) Rasmuson Hall, Room 303 Thea: massage (licensed massage therapist) Tara: yoga/relaxation/stretching

Also, check out the Knockout November opportunities for longer classes the week before Thanksgiving, courtesy of Intramural Sports and HPER: Racquet sports, boxing, weightlifting, water aerobics and more. Free--just wear workout clothes and bring a smile!

Here are the regularly scheduled, repeating fitness breaks on campus this week:

  • Tuesday, Nov. 10, 12-12:30 p.m. 30-minute fitness walk Drew, Chelsey, Trevor University Center (After Nov. 13, this will become every Friday at noon)
  • Tuesday, Nov. 10, 12-12:30 p.m. 30-minute fitness Deven, Kyra, Ben University Lake Annex (NEW!)
  • Wednesday, Nov. 11, 10-10:15 a.m. 15-minute fitness Katie Center for Human Development
  • Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2:15-2:30 p.m. 15-minute fitness Tara PSB 122C
  • Friday, Nov. 13, 2:15-2:30 p.m. 15 minute fitness Natalie PSB 122C

All sessions are free and open, whether you get health insurance with the university or not. Faculty and students are always welcome if room is available. Jean Marcey, the professor in the Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER) Department scheduling students as fitness session leaders, says she is working to add the Bragaw Building, the Library and the Aviation Technology Complex beginning the week of Nov. 16. Stay tuned, and take a wellness break!
