Learning math that's a prerequisite for UAA course offerings can be a frustrating experience. A Math Emporium experiment, however, could help students find secure footing in the world of numbers.

Last week, 2,542 new students walked through the doors at UAA. Of those, 1,140 are Anchorage-area freshmen. Some 135 are from out of state. And continuing a trend, this class is more diverse than ever.

Wells Fargo Sports Complex reopens after first update in 37 years

Time to take a good look at the newly revamped Wells Fargo Sports Complex. You'd feel pretty good too, getting a facelift after 36 years. The sports complex opened in 1978 to serve a campus clustered around the Cuddy Quad. Now, UAA stretches east a mile!

The Municipality of Anchorage (MOA) Parks and Recreation Department will host a public open house Thursday, Sept. 10, 5:30–7:30 p.m., at the BP Energy Center, to obtain community input and ideas for the University Lake Park Master Plan.
