Are you prepared for a major natural disaster?

This weekend's earthquake reminds us that there are things we can do to minimize our risk of injury and property damage. Don't put heavy objects on taller shelves, do use straps or brackets to attach shelf units to the wall and do know how to turn off your natural gas utilities if you discover they're leaking. And finally, during a big earthquake, stop where you are and duck under a piece of furniture to protect yourself from falling items: "Drop! Cover! Hold on!"
