Jan. 20, 2016: Meet one of the candidates for ISER Faculty Economist

by Michelle Saport  |

Wednesday, Jan. 20, 12-1 p.m. ISER Conference Room (1901 Bragaw Street, Suite 301)

ISER has been recruiting for two new faculty economists, and six finalists for those positions will be visiting UAA in the coming weeks.

Abdul Munasib is the first of those candidates. Dr. Munasib is a micro-economist whose research focuses on evaluating the effects of public policy programs. His areas of interest include public and labor economics, energy and environment, health, and international trade and development. He has done research in a variety of areas, including the effects of right-to-work laws on rising income inequality and the relationship between Renewable Portfolio Standards and renewable capacity installation.

Dr. Munasib will discuss the questions he has examined in the past, the ways he has answered them, and the policy implications of his findings. Please join us to hear from a potential future ISER faculty member, and have the opportunity to ask him questions.

1901 Bragaw Street is on Bragaw between Northern Lights and Debarr. Parking is free.

Note: Those who can't attend in person can stream the talk live at youtube.com/user/ayiserpub/live.
