Dr. Sandra Ehrlich, CBPP associate professor of management & marketing,  was elected to the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Alaska Chapter Board of Directors.

"In the College of Business & Public Policy, Dean Rashmi Prasad, values service to the greater community. As an educator, I look forward to fostering the development and growth of fundraising professionals dedicated to preserving and enhancing philanthropy across the state," said Ehrlich.

The AFP Alaska Chapter is committed to supporting development professionals throughout the state of Alaska. Statewide, it has over 150 active AFP members, serving as development directors, fundraising consultants, grant writers, volunteer fundraisers, foundation executives and other individuals dedicated to fundraising and philanthropy.

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) is the professional association of individuals and organizations that promotes stewardship, donor trust, and effective and ethical fundraising to generate philanthropic support for charitable institutions.

Since 1960, the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) has inspired global change and supported efforts that generated over $1 trillion. AFP's nearly 30,000 individual and organizational members raise over $100 billion annually, equivalent to one-third of all charitable giving in North America and millions more around the world.

Dedicated to setting standards in philanthropy through a valid and reliable certification process for philanthropic fundraising professionals, the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential was first awarded in 1981.

In June 2013, the CFRE became the first globally recognized credential for fundraising professionals. The organization is dedicated to setting standards in philanthropy through a valid and reliable certification process for philanthropic fundraising professionals. As strategic leaders, Certified Fund Raising Executives understand the depth and breadth of philanthropic fundraising by aligning the organization's mission to honor and fulfill the donor's philanthropic vision to enhance the nonprofit's long-term sustainability.

CFRE's pledge to uphold the Donor Bill of Rights and the International Statement of Ethical Principles in Fundraising.

One of 35 Certified Fund Raising Executives in Alaska, Dr. Sandra Ehrlich has been an AFP member since 2001, and a CFRE since 2007. In addition to serving on the AFP Alaska Chapter Board of Directors, she is the president of the Friends of Talkeetna Library.
