Feb. 25, 2016: Veritas Forum asks, 'Why am I here?'

by Michelle Saport  |

Thursday, Feb. 25, 7-8:30 p.m. Lucy Cuddy Hall

The Veritas Forum is an event that looks to engage students and faculty in discussions about life's hardest questions. At this year's forum, a Christian and an atheist will discuss identity and purpose as they address the question, "Why am I here?"

Two professors with opposing worldviews will lead this discussion: Dr. Ruth Lopez Turley, associate professor of sociology at Rice University and director of the Houston Education Research Consortium; and Kyle Hampton, associate professor of economics in the UAA College of Business and Public Policy.

The forum will be moderated by Libby Roderick, associate director for CAFE at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

Free and open to the public. A reception will follow the forum. Hosted by Arigaa/YoungLife College, Chi Alpha and Social Awareness Club.
