Patient Care is an auxiliary health plan service available to employees participating in the UA Choice plan. Read more about it here. Click here to see a larger version of the poster at right.
This service can help you confirm that doctor-bill paperwork has been filed correctly. They can help you find a doctor. They can advocate for you with your own doctor. They can even help you decide which UA Choice health plan best suits your needs. Open enrollment is ongoing through mid-May.
As the Patient Care website says, "We think that everyone needs an Advocate to help them navigate the complicated health care system. Patient Care got its start in 2001 when we noticed more and more people feeling confused about health care costs, and frustrated and intimidated when trying to understand their health benefits. We hope each member we interact with becomes more empowered and a better consumer of health care." The site also includes a 4-minute video explaining the service.
