Art exhibition: Juried Student Show Location: UAA Student Union Gallery Show dates: April 13-28 Gallery hours: Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Juror lecture: Monday, April 11, 7:30 p.m. in Fine Arts Building, Room 150 Opening reception: 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13 (awards will be announced at 4:30 p.m.) Midday reception: 1:30-3 p.m. on Thursday, April 14 Cost: Free
The annual Juried Student Show features the most outstanding artworks by UAA students, as selected by an Alaska juror. Awards are given for demonstration of superior skill, creativity and technique. This year's juror is Austin Parkhill, a hyperrealist painter who currently resides in Homer. His portrait and figure paintings reveal the raw characters of individuals without pretense, in unguarded sincerity.
