CBPP graduate students' project offers sensory-friendly films

College of Business and Public Policy graduate students Yulia Grishina and Franz Burghagen created a business plan in their BA 635 Current Marketing Issues Seminar for the Alaska Experience Theater. This past month their plan became a reality. In partnership with the Arc of Anchorage, Yulia and Franz wrote a plan for the Alaska Experience Theater to offer sensory-friendly films for viewers with disabilities. Yulia brought the idea to fruition when she took Dr. Hoanca's graduate internship class this semester. The Alaska Experience Theater recently hosted its second showing of a sensory-friendly movie thanks to the students. KTUU showcased their efforts during its news hour on April 22. Upcoming sensory-friendly film nights will be announced on the Arc of Anchorage Facebook page and posted to the Alaska Experience Theatre calendar.
