Summer on the Anchorage campus

by joey  |

Campus may look empty in summer, but don't be fooled. There are still more than 5,500 students in summer courses (including a 44 percent increase in engineering enrollment over last summer).

So where is everybody? Well, UAA students are harder to spot when they're out researching everywhere from Hawai'i to the Upper Yukon to Independence Mine. Here in the city, students are interning with Alaska Native corporations, dental clinics, media outlets and property managers. Interested in phlebotomy or auto tech? There's an internship for that.

And while so many UAA students are out in the world, the next generation is taking their place on campus. Click the image below and take a look at our summer slideshow, including images of ANSEP Acceleration Academies, culinary boot camp, Seawolf athletics camps and more.
