Forming an LLC is probably the least expensive insurance you can buy to protect your assets. Learn how LLCs work, the factors to look at in deciding whether you need an LLC, and how to maintain and manage your LLC.

Andrew Mitton, a local attorney with Vellum LLC who has more than 16 years of experience, will lead this workshop. Vellum LLC is an Alaska law firm providing services to small businesses and their owners.

How to Write a Business Plan Wednesday, Sept. 14, 1-5 p.m. Alaska Small Business Development Center (1901 Bragaw Street, Suite 199)

This interactive workshop will cover the basics of writing a business plan and how it can help you focus your business, obtain financing and keep your business on track. The first half of the class with cover the financials for a dummy company chosen by the attendees and the second half will go over the narrative portion of the business plan. It is relevant for everybody in business-from the person just planning to start to the seasoned entrepreneur.
