Fall 2016: Free acting labs on Fridays

UAA Theatre and Dance features a range of different performance techniques in its free Friday labs, generally held on various Fridays throughout the semester in the Harper Studio Theatre (Fine Arts Building, Room 129), from 4-6 p.m. They are open to anyone of any skill level. Both UAA students and community members (especially high school students) are encouraged to attend.

Past labs have included: improv, commedia dell'arte, Viewpoints, Alexander Technique, on-camera acting and audition techniques.

Fall 2016 schedule:

Sept. 23 - Opera Student Coaching, led by Ty Hewitt and Nova Cunningham Sept. 30 - Auditioning for Musical Theatre, with Nova Cunningham

Oct. 7 - Alexander Technique, with Dr. Mari Hahn Oct. 14 - Commedia Dell'arte, with Ty Hewitt

Nov. 4 - And Then There Were None performance and Directing I auditions Nov. 11 - Theatre for Young Audiences

Dec. 2 - Basic Hand-To-Hand Combat, with Ty Hewitt
