Sept. 30, 2016: Live music and visuals at the UAA Planetarium

by Michelle Saport  |

This Friday, it's all-live at the UAA Planetarium. Start the night with a live tour of the night sky and end it with live music from psychedelic progressive rock band Daughtershouldanamedher. Tickets to both shows-more details below-are on sale now at UAATix.com.

Stars of the Alaskan Sky Friday, Sept. 30, 6:30 p.m. ConocoPhillips Integrated Science Building, Room 220

Have you ever looked up at the night sky and wondered what you were seeing? What is that bright object on the horizon? Where is the Big Dipper? In a special all-live presentation, Planetarium Manager Omega Smith will take you on a tour of the night sky and show you what you can see during our long winter nights. You'll learn what constellations and planets are visible, as well as how to look for the moon. Best of all, it will be a balmy 68 degrees inside the planetarium.

AudioDome LIVE: Daughtershouldanamedher Friday, Sept. 30, 8 p.m. ConocoPhillips Integrated Science Building, Room 220

AudioDome is back at the Planetarium with a live show featuring five-piece band Daughtershouldanamedher, whose music is a perfect symbiotic soundscape for the planetarium's extraterrestrial visuals. This AudioDome special will also double as the release show for the band's first album. CDs will be available for purchase (cash only).
