Sept. 22, 2016: Introduction to Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology

by Michelle Saport  |

More than forty departments have already taken advantage of the opportunity to receive continuous improvement training-and together we've helped save thousands of hours of staff time by streamlining processes and getting rid of long-standing frustrations. If you haven't attended one of our trainings, there's no better time to get involved!

The Lean Center of Excellence is hosting our next White Belt Lean Six Sigma training on Sept. 22, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Registration is now open to UA faculty and staff. For more information, visit our website at uaa.leanhighered.org or email uaa_lean@uaa.alaska.edu to register.

We're also excited to offer a comprehensive Lean Six Sigma Green Belt as an academic course offering this semester. Held weekly on Monday evenings from 5:30-9 p.m. and instructed by Jim Bates (former senior consultant at Plexent and CEO of Business Improvement Group) and LuAnn Piccard (ESPM Chair and former VP at HP and Agilent Technologies), our Green Belt offering will provide you advanced understanding of Lean Six Sigma concepts and prepare you to receive a valuable ASQ certification. For more information on our academic offerings, visit our website here.

If you're interested in applying Lean Six Sigma concepts in your department, please let us know. The Lean Center of Excellence provides consultation and facilitation in Lean methodologies at no charge with the goals of improving the customer experience, reducing waste and generating unique value.
