Nov. 29, 2016: 'What's Next, Mr. President? The Challenges Awaiting in the Asia Pacific'

Guest lecturer Christopher Hebb will present, "What's Next, Mr. President? The Challenges Awaiting in the Asia Pacific," part of the Chartwell Lecture Series, on Tuesday, Nov. 29, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in UAA/APU Consortium Library, Room 307.

Christopher Hebb, of West Vancouver, British Columbia, holds an LL.B. from the University of Toronto and a B.A. in history from the University of Alberta. He is a retired member of the Law Societies of Alberta and British Columbia. Hebb's career spans business experience in Alaska, California, New York, London, Mexico City, Moscow, Hong Kong, Seoul, Tokyo, and Canada from sea to sea. His trans-Pacific travel includes forty trips to Japan and numerous trips to China. He was in Armenia in the Soviet Union at the time of the outbreak of the Yom Kippur War in 1973 and in Seoul at the time of the thirtieth anniversary of the Korean invasion in 1980. Much of Hebb's experience has been in corporate turnarounds. He has operated in a variety of businesses, including oil and gas, coal, steel manufacturing, steel fabrication, food, consumer products, diamond exploration, real estate, and investment management. He is former executive vice president of Kaiser Resources Ltd. in Canada and senior vice president of Kaiser Steel Corporation in Oakland, Calif., with its steel operations in Fontana, Calif. Hebb takes a keen interest in geopolitics, having constantly moved around the world during his career.
