The UAA Center for Behavioral Health Research and Services' Arctic SBIRT Training is pleased to offer a free interactive Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) workshop to UAA faculty, staff and community members.

This workshop will enable the participant to:

  • Describe what SBIRT is and its purpose
  • Conduct a screening for alcohol use using a standardized screening tool
  • Describe and conduct a brief intervention using Motivational Interviewing core skills and concepts
  • Discuss referral to treatment and other avenues of support
  • Faculty: Use this curriculum in the classroom with students

Continuing education credit is available.

While this workshop is aimed primarily at faculty and health care professionals, students are also welcome to attend.
