English professors involved in outreach related to sexual violence

English professors Ronald Spatz and Heather Adams teamed up on two events and outreach related to issues of sexual violence (with AQR's essay "White Horse" as a focal point). In April 2017, they organized UAA's "How to Teach and Talk about Narratives of Sexual Violence: A Difficult Dialogues" led by Libby Roderick.

In October 2016, Professor Spatz organized "A Voice Against the Culture of Rape," which included a panel discussion moderated by Professor Adams (with UAA Justice Center professor Lindsey Blumenstein, advocate Elsie Boudreau, artist Sarah Davies and attorney Meg Simonian as panelists).

Professors Spatz and Adams appeared on KBNA Public Radio and Channel 11 KTVA jointly and individually.

Professor Adams was featured on Alaska Public Media's Alaska News Nightly and Professor Spatz was featured on Channel 2 KTUU.

The Alaska Humanities Forum is initiating an online series, "Grant Spotlights," on their website and the recordings of "A Voice Against the Culture of Rape" will be included.
